Welcome to what I hope will become the Sidney Linux User Group (SLUG).

There is a LUG in Binghamton but traveling there became a hassle and there always seems to  be a problem connecting to their wiki and forums so I thought I should try it myself before I complain about them.

This is a work in progress, as I’m migrating this URL away from my business and trying to figure out how to start a LUG. :-)

I have a dedicated meeting place in mind that is available, but there are other people that I need input from before announcing anything regarding dates and times.

This LUG will focus on the average home/business user. Too often LUG’s turn in to technical circle-jerks that alienate new or potential new users and it’s important that we strive to not let that happen here. While the technical aspects and operations of Linux and its uses certainly have a place, we don’t want to scare off new users by excluding them from discussions.
